St. Helens to Rainier March 15, 2025 (4pm)
Join us for a Sunset Cruise as we travel from St. Helens to Rainier*!
Our beautiful 1955 ship "Reliant" is on her way to Astoria this weekend for her 5-year "out of water" inspection by the US Coast Guard. We are inviting the public to join us for the scenic St. Helens to Rainier portion of this trip.
Delight in the calm of being on the water, the excitement of wildlife sightings, and - with the sun's cooperation - the chance to soak in a beautiful sunset. Regardless of weather, "Reliant" offers an enclosed and heated stern from which to enjoy the river. We will provide hot drinks and light refreshments, so be sure to bring something more substantial to eat if you desire dinner aboard the ship. Also, feel free to bring your own adult beverages!
*Please note: The boat portion of Join Us! cruises is one-way. Our free shuttle will take you back to your vehicle at the end of the cruise.
- Take in the tour no matter the weather from our covered, heated deck
- Borrow a pair of our binoculars during the ride
- Enjoy hot chocolate, cider, and coffee on the house
- Feel free to bring other beverages (including those for adults) and any snacks
- We encourage you to dress in layers. While our deck is cozy, you may also wish to step out onto the bow of the boat during our tour.
Park at the St. Helens City Docks behind the courthouse (available free to the public on evenings and weekends). The "Reliant" will be docked for an open house from 2-4pm and will leave promptly at 4pm for Rainier. Plan on arriving at 3:30pm to get checked in and properly boarded. Please be prepared for an approximately 4 hour cruise, noting that we are subject to delays created by events such as currents and larger river traffic. We will deboard in Rainier, where our shuttle will pick you up and drive you back to your vehicle at the St. Helens City Docks at no additional charge. Please also factor this travel time into your schedule.
Tickets can be purchased for $29 per person.
The "Reliant" can be privately chartered for $999 an hour. Please send us an inquiry if you are interested in reserving the entire boat for your party of up to 47 passengers.
